Work Outfit of the Week

If you're anything like me, you reluctantly wake up every morning and sleepily stumble into your closet to find the same clothes for work and feel stuck in the limited combinations you can dream up.  Each week (hopefully), I will share my favorite work outfit with you.  I’ll admit up front that some of these outfits will have new pieces in them, but for the most part (since I don't have any immediate plans to revamp my work wardrobe) it will be my standard work basics mixed to make new outfits.  Hopefully it inspires you and if you have your own ideas, I would love to hear them! 


In the interest of time this week, I decided to share two work outfits that I would LOVE to have.  Which one would you wear?

Travel Style

Do you have a signature travel style?  I have been traveling a ton this year and I have been drawn to either a pair of high-waisted jeans and a flowy top (with cute jacket or my go to stripped crewneck sweatshirt close in sight) or a summer maxi dress with easily slipped off sandals and  a striped crewneck sweatshirt that is belted (because planes are often chilly).

No matter what you wear, comfort and easily removed clothing are key since you need to make it quickly through security and are closer to perfect strangers than I would normally choose to be.

Designer Crush

A few weeks ago I went on a Saturday lunch date with my mom and then we took a nice, long browse through Neimans.  I had heard of Rebecca Taylor before, but I had no idea how much I would love her stuff!  Here are a few things that caught my eye:

Makeshift Mondays

Ugh, Mondays – by far the worst day of my week.  Despite going to bed at a reasonable hour on Sunday, I always wake up exhausted and not ready to start another week at work.  Meals are usually whatever I was able to smuggle home from Sunday dinners at my parents and once I get home there is a pile freshly cleaned laundry that needs to be folded and put away.

Despite what seems to be clawing through the first day of the work week, it feels good to get home having accomplished going to the gym and running errands after work is over.  And how can this face not make it all worth it?

Starting Over

For the few people that have been checking back since February, I am re-working this blog.  I think I will have something going by the end of the weekend.  For now I hope you like the new design, even though it is not complete.
